Cork County Council has launched a new online portal for customers to engage and interact with the local authority. The ‘Your Council’ system allows members of the public to access over 40 different online services with more expected to be added throughout 2017. The portal was developed in response to the results of a survey of more than 3,000 citizens which was undertaken by the council to better understand Cork citizens preferences when engaging with their council. The ‘Your Council’ system was developed to complement the existing range of options to contact the Council which will enable Cork Citizens to engage with their council in the method that is most convenient to them.
Cork County Council is the first local authority in Ireland to launch such a comprehensive range of online services.‘Your Council’ will offer a range of online services, including planning, recruitment and environmental reporting. The portal will continue to develop with more services coming on stream in 2017. This service also offers map-based submissions, facilitating even greater efficiencies in both processing and responding to customers with an additional ability to track a specific query. The system is accessible using desktop computers, tablets and smartphones.
The online portal is available on the website for Cork County Council at corkcoco.ie by clicking on the ‘Your Council’ tab, where there are a wide range of instructional materials or alternatively you can visit the portal directly at yourcouncil.ie.
